HISTORY
NBITI is established as an international branch of higher education,
and serves as an additional extended outreach ministry of World in Prayer
Ministries, Inc., founded in 1993.
NBITI partners with Oral Roberts
University School of Life Long Education to provide Certificate and Diploma
Programs in Bible Education, Theology, Missions, Christian Education, or
Christian Helps Ministry. These programs may be pursued for earned diploma
credit hours, or the Non-Credit Certificate of Theology for Group Study. Students
earning credit hours may be considered for advanced standing in
undergraduate degree studies.
The
program is designed to complement the
educational initiatives of the local church, other Christian groups, and
community. The program offers
Short-term Theological Certificates (19 credit hours), the Advanced Certificate of Theology
(33 credit hours),
and the Diploma of Theological Studies (66 credit hours) for the equipping of the saints for
the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:12).
Academic and administrative
support is given by ORU to the partnering entity, including the provision of
course curriculum and materials that are prepared by ORU faculty and other
qualified professionals.
Students completing the program will receive a
joint Certificate or Diploma from NBITI and Oral Roberts University School
of Life Long Education.
PHILOSOPHY
NBITI believes in the development of the whole man--spirit mind, soul and
physical body. Students who successfully complete the programs are expected
to increase in their proficiency and capacity of biblical knowledge,
sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, evangelistic ability, ethical behavior,
critical thinking, information literacy, global and historic perspectives,
aesthetic appreciation, intellectualism, a healthy physical lifestyle; and
effective communication skills in both oral and written language, becoming
responsible citizens and servant leaders in the church and society.
